About

I believe in the legislative process and feel a good representative can stand up for the citizens of Lewiston in Augusta. My past experience in the State Legislature and my ability to listen to voters in the district will help me be a strong voice for Lewiston.

I am a lifelong Lewiston resident and have an extensive background in public safety. In 2006, I retired from the Lewiston Fire Department after 31 years with the department, and the last 11 as chief. Between 2008-2016 I was elected to four 2-year terms (8 years) as a state legislator representing Lewiston and afterwards served 2 terms on the Lewiston City Council (2018-2021) and was Council President in my last term.

While in the Maine House of Representatives, I served on the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee, the Maine Fire Protection Services Commission and the Maine Fire Service Institute Advisory Board. I've continued to serve on the commission and the advisory board on a volunteer basis, representing the fire service.

I currently am on the board of directors at the Gendron Franco Center and a community volunteer leader with the American Red Cross of Maine. I am proud of the community organizations that I am apart of including the Knights of Columbus Holy Family Council 10019, the Franco-American War Veterans Post 31, and previously serving on the board of directors of the Lewiston Municipal Federal Credit Union.

Family is an important part of my life. Rita and I prioritize spending time with our growing family, now with five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. We cannot overlook the fact that our children are the future of Maine, and fostering a strong economy and education will help keep our kids (our most valuable resource) in Maine!
